PRODUCT CARE
Washing your kimono/yukata/happi coat
Each of our new garments has its own label with care guidelines which we recommend you follow. The majority of our new cotton/polyester garments can be washed by machine. The kimono/happi coats with embroidered designs (including our Zen and Namiryu) we recommend you wash only by hand.
For cleaning of our second-hand silk furisode we suggest you seek specialist advice.
Recommendations for caring for your gilt and lacquerware products
1. Washing.
We recommend washing by hand with a soft sponge and lukewarm water.
Avoid using in dishwashers.
Avoid soaking over a long period as it can soften and damage the wood over serveral uses.
Avoid using boiling water as the colour may fade.
Avoid scrubbing as this may scratch the surface.
2. Heating
Avoid using in ovens or microwaves.
Avoid direct heat.
3. Storage
Please store in a well ventilated area.
Avoid keeping directly under the sunlight over a long period of time as the surface may start to peel.
Recommendations for caring for your kokeshi
1.Cleaning
To keep your kokeshi in good condition wipe regularly with a dry soft cloth. Do not use a wet cloth, otherwise colours may fade.
2. Storage
Do not expose your kokeshi to high temperature or high humidity.
